National Law Journal: Grant Pays Lawyers to Represent Undocumented Children

Karen Sloan of the National Law Journal reports that the new justice AmeriCorps program, a strategic partnership between The Corporation for National and Community Service, which operates the AmeriCorps national service program, and the Department of Justice through its Executive Office for Immigration Review, sets aside $1.8 million to send approximately 100 lawyers and paralegals into the field for two years each to represent unaccompanied children in immigration proceedings.
